I may become a wanted man by the Champagne elite producers as this bubbly from Victorine de Chastenay is a real imposter for much higher priced bubbleys.
The reason for this is that this is Chardonnay not grown in the region of Champagne but in the region of burgundy which in itself is considered the most highly regarded wine growing area in the entire country of France and perhaps the world. Since this wine is produced in burgundy and not Champagne it cannot be called Champagne so the price point then takes a dramatic drop of course benefiting clever wine lovers like ourselves.
This wine has it all tight bubbles, great fruit, bracing & refreshing crispiness all at a fraction of the price of others. It’s French and it’s from Burgundy so it’s going to be great.
