Pillastro Nero is a true ‘black red’ – from the ornate label to the deep, dark wine inside. These gnarled heirlooms yield precious few grapes, meaning each one is a knot of intensely concentrated flavor.
Back in the winery, Angelo treated Pillastro Nero to six months’ barrel aging. This imparted toasty oak and sweet spice notes to the wine’s lusciously ripe, black- and bramble-fruit flavors. Velvety enough to enjoy on its own, this will also shine alongside a juicy steak or heaping plate of spaghetti and meatballs.
