More than two decades ago, Marietta vineyards created a tasty field blend from Rhône varietals when most of California were making wine from Bordeaux and Burgundy grapes.
This was a clever strategy and niche market offering the opportunity to the consumer for a rich red with slight spice notes and at a phenomenal price. Decades later, the wine has maintained its consistency and while the price has increased a little bit, this juicy offering still continues to be one of California’s best value/quality wines.
