Gaston Chiquet is a another one of our line of growers champagnes which were farming families that historically sold their prize fruit to the very large and famous champagne houses that would put these grapes into their finest and most expensive offerings.
The vineyards are planted with 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir with all of the fruit coming from premiere and grand cru grapes. Unlike many other producers Nicolas does not use any oak aging at the winery; he believes that concentration, fruit maturity and fermentation impart enough body and texture that makes aging in barrel unnecessary.
This Rose Brut based on Pinot Meunier, is medium to full bodied and crisp with a delightful core of fruit and exhilarating acid that concludes with a lingering and flavorful finish.
